Baxter is 15 this year. He is quarter horse/morgan. When I bought him he wasnt ridden for a couple of years but once you got on him and worked a little bit with him he did great. He has never offered to buck/ rear once with me, but did like to back fast and circle. Only reared when given wormer so I give pellet wormer. When we first got him he was on the bottom of the pecking order and now hes on top. He is around 15hh or a bit taller. We have been working with his feet more due to hes not the best with them but with time hes been way better, with some patience. So for the farrier just let them know youll need to take it slower with him. Fronts are better than the back. Now he hasnt been ridden for a couple years again so hes been on the back burner and I just want him to find a home who will work with him and put him first. Hes definitely buddy sour now because of that. He will be a bit of a project but once you get him started he will do good. He is use to a lot of loud noises like guns and use to dogs running past and underneath him. Hes with all geldings right now but I think he was with some mares in his previous home. So he may be suitable in a big herd on a ranch. Hes good with water, he trailered well when we first got him and now not as well, trailered him only twice when I had a trainer work with him over the summer. Hes pretty desensitized, for as long as Ive had him. He does ride in a hack just because the previous owners told us that he never took to a bit. Ive never tried one, since he wont take it, but hes done fine with a hack/bosal. He is very sensitive with his mouth even when giving wormer so Im thinking he needs his teeth checked. *also a new issue has arisen with one of his hoofs which Im thinking a farrier could fix, so just ask me about it. Pm me for more questions, I will not answer questions in the comment. I can negotiate price for a good home where he will be used and not sold again. Id just prefer to see him stay on a ranch or used as a trail horse and not be passed around, hes been with us for about 7 years now. *no rodeo homes*no stables *no horse tradersLocated in Medora, nd
