Search and Rescue Flight Instructor CAP

Role Description

Build flight hours while learning and instructing search and rescue, disaster response, and/or cadet flight orientation. Students include FAA qualified pilots and aircrew positions not occupying the pilot seat, e.g. airborne photographer, radio operator, etc. All volunteers provided training in desired mission sets, monthly proficiency flights based on qualifications, and funding for instruction based on student needs. Missions include: search-and-rescue for crashed/missing aircraft, vehicles or persons; airborne photography during flood response, excessive snow, etc.; transport of critical/lifesaving supplies and equipment. Local Cessna 172 and 182 aircraft are all GPS equipped - over half feature G1000 avionics. Accelerated promotion to Captain.

Qualifications

CFI certificate

Expertise in Aviation and Flight Safety

Strong communication and facilitation skills

Ability to work with diverse groups

Facilitation or Instruction experience is a plus

Bachelor's degree not required, however, benefits future development
