JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for placing safety as #1 priority in day-to-day work routine for self and others. Responsible for designing, directing, coordinating and implementing safety programs and initiatives. Responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state and local safety regulations and company policies related to employee safety. Responsible for identifying and communicating job safety hazards to reduce operational risks for the protection of our employees, environment, and community.
This position is located out of the Bismarck General Office.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Requires in-depth knowledge of OSHA/DOT regulations and a thorough technical understanding of electric operations at a level normally acquired through a four-year degree in a safety or business-related curriculum.
Seven years of experience in a large industrial facility or seven years electric utility experience.
Prior supervisory or leadership experience.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Researches, develops, and implements safety programs to enhance, encourage, and promote a positive safety culture and safe work practices, and to prevent, detect, and correct unsafe practices and conditions.
Works as a collaborative partner with all staff in the Utility Group safety and technical training department.
Develops and maintains Utility Group relationships with region directors, directors, managers, supervisors, employees and subject matter experts.
Maintains industry peer relationships to develop continuity with changing processes and techniques.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Must take all measures necessary to protect networks, devices, programs and data from cyber-attack, damage or unauthorized access.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, no sponsorships considered.
Subject to pre-employment drug testing and background checks.
Required to maintain a valid driver's license.
Requires travel: approximately 25%
