Seasonal Shop Maintenance Welder

Job Summary:

Performs welding, brazing, and cutting on any type of metal, using gas and electric welding equipment.

Essential Duties:

Welds metal components together or cuts to fabricate or repair structural members or machinery used at the mine.

Performs welding, brazing and cutting using gas and electric welding equipment.

Follows layouts, blueprints or work orders to measure and set up the required work to meet standards.

Inspects equipment to locate and repair cracks in metal parts/structural members.

Performs job duties in accordance with MSHA law and regulations, established company safety procedures and state and federal environmental regulations.

Other Duties:

Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Must have solid understanding of welding principles, metallurgy and mechanical principles and be able to set up rigging.

Must be able to work rotating 12-hour shift work

Education and Experience:

On-the-job training or vocational training (minimum qualifications for job advertisement must pass the necessary written and practical tests for this position.)
